The homeowners came to us with an aging pool patio that no longer matched the rest of the home’s hardscape. Once we started evaluating the space, it became clear the project would go well beyond a simple resurfacing: inadequate drainage, damaged underground pool plumbing, a broken water slide, and failing electrical components all needed to be addressed to get this pool area performing the way it should.
Our solution centered on a new permeable paver pool deck engineered to manage both rainwater and pool splash-out, paired with a completely redesigned drainage system to direct water safely away from the pool and surrounding landscape.
Beneath the deck, our team excavated and repaired the pool’s buried filtration plumbing, eliminating several long-developing leaks and restoring proper circulation. We also installed new electrical conduit, wiring, and grounding to bring the underwater pool lighting, now controlled by a dedicated switch at the breaker panel, back online and up to modern safety standards.
A consistently high water table made construction its own challenge. Continuous dewatering, subgrade stabilization, and engineered subsoil improvements were required before we could even begin building. Filter fabric and a geogrid reinforcement system were installed beneath the paver base to ensure the new deck holds up for years to come.
To complete the renovation, we poured new reinforced concrete footings for a replacement water slide and installed new plumbing to support it. We also added permanent bistro lighting suspended between custom posts, along with flush-mounted LED paver lights, giving the pool area a warm, inviting atmosphere after dark.
The transformation didn’t stop at the backyard. Two settling front entry stoops were replaced with custom paver entrances for improved safety and curb appeal, and six aging spruce trees were removed from the front landscape and replaced with a thoughtfully designed planting plan featuring mature privacy and flowering trees.
Despite limited site access and demanding drainage conditions, every phase of this project was completed with precision, resulting in a timeless pool environment built for both beauty and durability.
